Friday words 2

Friday words 1

It's a beautiful Friday in Cape Town...

Shot from school parking lot at about 7.20 am.
Touched up only slightly
[brightness, contrast, edged up the warmth].
At least not Instagrammed!

Just heard some kids in my class confuse the sci-fi show Terra Nova with the SA stand-up comic, Trevor Noah. Delicious!

Haiku [June 2015]

Haiku

Grey skies draw the soul;
her eyes, cool somnolent pools;
bracing, breath-taking

=============

rays of struggling sun;
the frozen earth will not budge:
your coolth defies me.

=============

Leaf falls in still air;
Drifts gently onto the grass.
Quiet autumn comes.

=============

Dust drifts in bright beams,
Obscuring shine like light snow;
So youth fades, gently.

=============

The mongoose scuttles
Traversing dark roads by day --
We risk all, to sup.

Haiku for her

Distant clouds sigh by;
Faint shadows map our contours:
Wide worlds in your eyes.
